Oh my, over 50 faves while I was gone?  What on earth happened here!?

Sorry folks, I was gone from deviantART for the last few months (and from art in general
to be honest.)  I wasn't really expecting any activity during my absence--maybe getting a couple of faves here and there--but I guess I underestimated the popularity of Portal.  Thank you so much for all the faves, comments and watches!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!


Now, regarding the "Thinking with Portals" project.  To be honest with you, I'm not planning on making any major update on this.  There are however a few things that I have in mind.

1) Control Panel icons are done.  I couldn't find a way to switch the control panel icons in Vista, so I won't be finishing this set.  I'm sorry if you were hoping for the finished set.  However, I will make the finished ones downloadable for anyone to use.

2) The Control Panel icon (not the individual ones, but THE Control Panel icon) looks awful.  I'm going to do a complete overhaul on that icon as I don't like it at all.

3) I have a couple of miscellaneous icons lying about that didn't make into Pack 1.  I'll bundle them up, along with the Control Panel icon mentioned in 2) and upload it as Pack 2.

4) I may do another variation of cursors if I feel like it.  If I do, it'll be included in Pack 2.

5) A COMPLETE PORTAL SKIN?  ARE YOU MAD!?  Don't you see how long it's taking just to create the basic icons?   ...OK, that does sound like a lot of fun though.  I don't know anything about making an entire skin though, so let me research about it first.  Don't expect anything though.


I think that's pretty much it for now.  Now I'm gonna go through all the messages I received (thanks!) and see if I missed anything.

*GASP*

I just realized I still need to make the Control Panel icon!
I'm also hopelessly out of ideas at the moment on what to do with the rest of the folder icons.

Currently, I sill have these to make:

- User Folders
  - Contacts
  - Pictures
  - Saved Games
  - Searches
  - Videos

- Control Panel

I have a vague idea on what to do for Contacts, Pictures, Videos and Control Panel.  If you happened to have an idea of how to incorporate Portal stuff to the rest of these icons, please let me know.

Hey, just letting everyone know that I'm STILL ALIVE. (Note the Portal reference there.)

I felt guilty for not responding to some of the comments, so I put up a preview of what's coming in the next couple of weeks (hopefully).  Currently, I'm looking for ideas on how to incorporate Portal stuff to these icons.  Some of them are quite tricky actually.

Hmm, it seems like I've somehow managed to miss my 3100th pageview journal entry.

The past week and a half or so turned out to be quite eventful, with the birthdays for both of my brothers and our cat, and several of my dad's friends visiting.

As for art, I've started to work on the last group of icons for my "Thinking with Portals" project.  This one is turning out to be rather tricky to make though.  I shall try to finish it nevertheless in the next few days.

I'm assuming most of my friends (more precisely, my friends in the U.S.) are now entering their summer vacation.  Have fun and be productive!



...OK, I guess I need to start producing as well.

Before I celebrate the 3000th pageview, I must apologize to people.  You won't be finding me at P/W this year, mostly due to a very bad planning on my part.  I'm very sorry.

I'm practicing using my tablet a lot more recently (I call it "taking her to a date").  I'm not sure if I'm improving.  I think I am.  I HOPE I am.
